Workman Associates/SF provides community outreach and facilitation, government liaison and advocacy activities, communication services, grant-making assistance as well as consultation to those interested in creating public or private facilities in San Francisco.

Dee Dee Workman is president of Workman Associates/SF and has, for over a decade, worked closely with San Francisco's civic organizations, community leaders, property owners and merchants, private foundations, local legislators and city staff crafting sensible policies and programs that sustain the City's natural and urban environment. Before launching her own firm, Ms. Workman was Executive Director of San Francisco Beautiful, a venerable community improvement organization, where she oversaw all aspects of the non-profit's work, including managing its Civic Initiatives as well as its Friedel Klussmann Grants and Beautification Awards Programs, for eleven years. She represented the organization in public events and in the press, and has published numerous articles, opinion pieces and presentations related to San Francisco's special character that can be viewed at www.sfbeautiful.org.

Ms. Workman has conceived and launched successful major initiatives including the No New Billboards ballot campaign, which stopped new general advertising signs from being built in the City and won with over 79% of the vote; the Lake Merced Task Force, through which over 40 stakeholder groups have worked together for a decade to ensure the long-term stewardship of this important natural resource; and the San Francisco Green Schoolyard Alliance which creates outdoor learning environments in public schools. She currently serves as an appointee to the City's Community Challenge Grants Advisory Board, the Mayor's Open Space Task Force and the San Francisco PUC's Lake Merced Watershed Advisory Board.

Ms. Workman came to San Francisco Beautiful after 20 years directing women's healthcare agencies throughout the Bay Area. She holds a Masters Degree in Public Health in Community Education from the University of California at Berkeley. She lives in San Francisco with her family.
